Declaration required: bean samples free from Cff |
In 2024 and 2025, infections with Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens (Cff) were found in Dutch bean trials. Naktuinbouw Variety Testing was also affected. In 2024, we were even unable to access our bean trial for a month. Fortunately, the trial did not have to be destroyed. This creates a significant risk to us and to our applicants. To prevent such risks in the future, we now require a declaration stating that bean seed is free from Cff. |

Transition to PCR for Alstroemeriaceae, Ranunculaceae and Verbenaceae postponed |
We previously announced that starting September 1 for crops in the Alstroemeriaceae family, and starting October 1 for crops in the Ranunculaceae and Verbenaceae families, we would introduce the PCR testing method as a replacement for ELISA. This transition has now been postponed until further notice.
