Prolongation of registration for an actual Variety Register |
This year prolongation of registration can be applied for varieties of vegetable and agricultural species which have been registered in 2016, 2006 and 2007. This also applies to all varieties of mais, wheat and grass species which have been registered before 2016. Maintainers of varieties that are eligible for re-registration will receive a letter from the Board of Plant Varieties in September.

Lower fees for genetic identification of raspberry and strawberry varieties fall 2024 |
In recent years, Naktuinbouw has developed genetic identification tools for identifying raspberry and strawberry varieties. The delivery of samples for these tests takes place mainly in the autumn. As a result, Naktuinbouw can offer a lower fee for these crops in September and October.

Naktuinbouw Testing & Analyses will be closed September 25th |
Normally, we are happy to answer your questions and receive samples. However, on Wednesday 25th of September, Naktuinbouw Laboratories will be closed due to an annual department event.
There will be no activities at the Roelofarendsveen and Horst locations on this day and samples cannot be delivered. We will do our outmost best to secure progress but It is possible that testing is delayed.

Successful Plant Variety Protection Seminar in Philippines |
The awareness raising seminar of Plant Variety Protection (PVP) on August 22, 2024, in Metro Manila, Philippines was successful. This event represents a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agriculture and food security in the region, under the National Seed Technology Park (NSTP) Project, funded by the Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO).

Mixed program Plant Breeders' Rights training starts in March 2025 |
The 'Plant Breeders' Rights for food security and economic development' training course is now also available in a mixed variant. It starts with various e-learning modules, supplemented with online meetings. The program concludes with a five-day meeting in the Netherlands. This program is spread over a period of 2.5 months and starts in March 2025.
